In the 1990's I traveled to Mexico and had a chance to bring home this lovely remembrance of friends and family now gone. The original skeleton doll is about 10" high with a quite cheerful grin!
"The Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday celebrated in Mexico and elsewhere associated with the Catholic celebrations of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day and is held on November 1 and 2. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pray for and to remember friends and family members who have died." From Wikipedia
Day of the Dead Doll is available as a Rug Hooking or a Punch Needle pattern in two sizes. Please let us know if you want a Punch Needle pattern (the design is reversed). This pattern is available at 10” x 20.75” (expect to simplify a bit) and 16" x 33.25". It is also available as a digital PDF instant download.
The Greeting Card is available on Printify
Each pattern includes a backing with the design hand-drawn, a 4”+ border that has a serged edge to prevent unraveling. Also included is a color image as designed by S. Kirsten Gay.
