Let's travel back up to Canada again for the next 'Design Like' as we take an ambitious, collective look at the 'Group of Seven'. This charmed group of landscape painters were landscape strove to portray the windswept, weather-ravaged quality of the Canadian wild with a magical, spiritual energy and sensitivity.
The original group was formed in 1920 and was composed of Franklin Carmichael, Lawren Harris, A.Y. Jackson, Franz Johnston, Arthur Lismer, J.E.H. MacDonald and F.H. Varley. We'll look at each artist's personal vision and tricks and create a composition emblematic of and inspired by repeated, respective motifs. You will end the class with many sketch s based on our whirlwind course on all seven painters, with seven more refined designs (one for each artist) that you can develop and/or use for your rug making projects.
The 'Design Like' classes are recorded so you can attend live over zoom on one of the two date options, or watch the recorded class, exclusive to people who sign up for the class. The private link is good for always-- and whether you attend a live class or not, everyone who signs up will receive the link, the materials via email a few days before class, and the powerpoint presentation to enjoy the presentation again and again as you work through your ideas and designs.
